Six categories, dozens of platforms. Here’s how to think about which build fits your mission.
The three categories serve three different operational profiles. Armored SUVs are the most-popular choice for families, executive details and security teams that need cargo room, seating capacity and off-road capability. They balance presence with practicality — an Escalade or G-Class seats six to eight in comfort and handles unpaved roads as well as highways.
Armored sedans are the discretion choice. From outside, an armored S-Class or Bentley is genuinely indistinguishable from the factory original — no telegraphing that the principal is in an armored vehicle. They also offer the smoothest ride and quietest cabin acoustics of any armored platform, because their suspension and acoustic engineering is purpose-built for limousine smoothness.
Armored trucks are the operational choice — heavy payload, real off-road capability, easy global parts availability and rugged construction. Security details, energy-sector operations and remote-site protection routinely choose pickup platforms for their combination of capability and serviceability.
Each category has dedicated platform-level FAQs on its individual page. Browse the category that matches your profile to see model-specific guidance.
We recommend BR4 for most North American, European and major Asian capitals — environments where the realistic threat is opportunistic carjacking or street crime. BR4 stops handgun ammunition through .44 Magnum and is the most-common civilian-armoring standard in low-threat environments. Weight penalty is 350-500 kg; cost premium over base vehicle is typically CAD $90,000 to $140,000.
We recommend BR6 for emerging-market cities with active organised crime, regions with intermittent civil unrest, and clients with a higher-than-average public profile. BR6 stops 7.62×51mm NATO ball ammunition (AK-47, FN FAL, hunting rifles) and is the most-common civilian armoring level worldwide. Weight penalty 600-800 kg; cost premium typically CAD $160,000 to $240,000.
We recommend BR7 for high-threat operating environments only — active-conflict regions, principals targeted by organised crime or politically-motivated groups, diplomatic principals in high-risk postings. BR7 stops 7.62×51mm armor-piercing ammunition. Weight penalty 800-1,100 kg; cost premium typically CAD $260,000 to $360,000. The weight and cost trade-off is significant — we discuss carefully before recommending BR7.

Standard armoring builds run 10 to 16 weeks. The exact duration depends on platform complexity (sedans typically faster than SUVs, SUVs faster than trucks, specialty builds slowest), protection level (BR7 takes longer than BR4 because of thicker transparent armor and underbody plating), and option selection (smoke screen, electronic security and custom interiors add 2 to 4 weeks each).
Pre-built stock vehicles ship within 2 to 3 weeks of contract once customs and logistics are arranged. This is your fastest path to delivery if a platform in our stock fits your needs. Browse current stock for available builds.
If you have a hard deadline (mission timing, contract requirement, regulatory rollout), tell us at the first consultation. We keep a small queue of priority production slots for clients with mission-critical timelines, and we’ll commit to your date with a delivery guarantee or honestly recommend an alternative path (such as starting with a stock vehicle and deferring a custom build).
The biggest source of avoidable delay is client-side change orders during the build. Our specialists work hard to lock the spec correctly at the start; once engineering is locked, every major change extends the timeline by an average of two weeks. We’ll guide you through the choices at the start, so the build runs on schedule.
